At Agrométodos, we are highlighting an issue that goes beyond a single season: climate change is forcing the industry to rethink how crops such as pistachios
Fruit Attraction 2026 confirms the strong momentum of the fruit and vegetable sector
At Agrométodos, we are highlighting one of the most relevant events for the agricultural sector: Fruit Attraction 2026, which will hold its 18th edition from 6 to 8 October at IFEMA Madrid.
The fair arrives at this new edition with strong momentum. Several months before it takes place, it has already exceeded 90% occupancy, a figure that confirms the importance this event has gained within the international calendar of the fruit and vegetable sector.
Beyond the figures, Fruit Attraction has established itself as a meeting point for producers, companies, technicians, buyers and professionals from across the entire value chain. It is a space where market trends, exports, logistics, innovation, sustainability and the challenges that directly affect the field are all part of the conversation.
A fair that comes of age
Fruit Attraction 2026 will not be just another edition. The fair turns 18 at a particularly relevant time for the sector.
According to the organisation’s forecasts, this edition will bring together more than 2,500 exhibiting companies, feature around 80,000 square metres of fruit and vegetable offer and expects to welcome more than 121,000 professionals from 150 nationalities.
These are important figures, but they also reflect something else: the fruit and vegetable sector continues to show capacity for growth, internationalisation and adaptation, even in a context marked by new regulatory requirements, cost pressure, changes in consumer habits and the need to produce more efficiently.
Innovation, sustainability and the value chain
One of the most interesting aspects of Fruit Attraction is that it is not limited to showcasing products. The fair has become a showcase for everything surrounding fruit and vegetable production and marketing.
The 2026 edition will once again include specialised areas such as Innova&Tech, Fresh Food Logistics and spaces linked to technical knowledge. This allows the sector to be approached from a broader perspective: production, post-harvest, logistics, marketing, technology and new solutions for the field.
In an increasingly demanding agricultural environment, innovation is no longer optional. It helps improve processes, optimise resources, reduce losses and respond more effectively to climate, production and commercial challenges.
Organic production also gains visibility
Sustainability will once again play a prominent role at Fruit Attraction 2026. Among the planned initiatives, the fair will promote the Organic Tour, a signposted route designed to give greater visibility to companies with organic certification.
This point is especially relevant because organic production and residue reduction strategies continue to gain importance in the market. More and more consumers, distributors and international buyers are looking for products that meet criteria related to quality, traceability and lower environmental impact.
That said, it is important to maintain the technical nuance. Not every natural product is organic, and not every solution aimed at more sustainable agriculture can be presented as suitable for organic production if it does not meet the relevant requirements and certifications.
For the sector, this clarity is important. It helps organise the market, protects consumer trust and allows farmers and companies to work with greater confidence.
Potato, the star product of this edition
Fruit Attraction 2026 will have potato as its star product. The choice is no coincidence. It is a crop with a strategic role in food, a strong presence in the shopping basket and importance in both the national and international markets.
In addition, potato represents many of the sector’s current challenges very well: productivity, conservation, plant health, climate adaptation, efficient water use and response to consumer demands.
Focusing on this crop opens up interesting conversations around food security, varietal innovation, agronomic management and sustainability.
A meeting point with an international outlook
Fruit Attraction’s international vocation will continue to be one of its greatest strengths. The fair will once again activate its International Buyers Programme, with the expected presence of major buyers and purchasing managers from numerous countries.
In addition, in this edition, the Guest Importing Countries will be China and the United Arab Emirates, two markets with growing weight and opportunities for the Spanish fruit and vegetable sector.
For many companies, the fair is not just a showcase. It is a commercial tool to open up contacts, strengthen relationships and identify where international demand is heading.
A sector that needs to produce better, not just sell more
The growth of Fruit Attraction also reflects a reality of the field: the fruit and vegetable sector has opportunities, but also many challenges ahead.
Climate pressure, regulatory requirements, water availability, plant health, the profitability of farms and the demand for more sustainable products are forcing increasingly technical decisions.
In this context, producing better is just as important as marketing better. Plant nutrition, soil balance, prevention, residue reduction and technical support are factors that directly influence crop quality and stability.
Agrométodos works precisely along these lines, developing solutions for plant nutrition, crop protection and soil improvement, with a technical approach focused on more efficient, sustainable agriculture adapted to the real needs of each farm.
Fruit Attraction 2026, an event to follow the evolution of the field
Fruit Attraction 2026 arrives at a time when the agricultural sector needs spaces for meeting, reflection and business. The fair makes it possible to see where the fruit and vegetable chain is heading and which topics will shape the coming years: innovation, sustainability, organic production, logistics, internationalisation and field efficiency.
For farmers, technicians and companies, these types of events help provide perspective. Not only on what is sold, but also on how it is produced, how a product is differentiated and what tools the sector needs to remain competitive. In this context, we will be present at Fruit Attraction 2026, as we have been in the last three editions, with a stand located at 6D16, where visitors will be able to discover our solutions for more efficient, sustainable and innovative agriculture.
On the Agrométodos blog, we will continue to share analysis on agricultural news, innovation, sustainable production and sector trends to better understand the challenges and opportunities affecting the field.
