NATURAL FORMULATIONS FOR PEST CONTROL OF NEW PSEUDOCOCCID SPECIES

Budget: EUR 457.130,00

CDTI financial assistance (partially refundable): EUR 388 560.50

This project has been executed during the years 2020 and 2021 with the main objective of (1) carrying out an exhaustive investigation of the biological cycle of Delottococcus aberiae and Pseudococcidus longispinus, two species of pseudococcids from Sub-Saharan Africa and South America, respectively, which have recently been introduced into our country and that are causing significant damage to citrus and persimmon crops, and (2) design and develop, for their control, new phytosanitary formulations of a biological nature, based on synergistic mixtures based on active ingredients of different essential oils prepared specifically for this purpose. Proposed as a logical combination of field work (in experimental plots) and in the laboratory for the development and testing of properties of formulations, the project has been a success.

This project has been audited by the CDTI in 2022.
